Our Pastor

 

Dr. Lora A. Adams-King, the youngest daughter of the late Rev. Andrew J. Adams and Annie R. Adams, announced her call to the ministry on December 6, 1991 while a member of the Cedar Avenue Church of God in Sharon, Pennsylvania. There she served as an Associate Minister.

She was ordained by the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, Western Pennsylvania Ministerial Credentials Committee on September 1, 1996. She began pastoring the Erie Street Church of God (now the New Life Family Worship Center), Franklin, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1998.

Dr. Adams-King is a graduate of Farrell High School, Farrell, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also attended the Pennsylvania State University (Shenango Campus). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA; and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Youngstown State University.

In addition to being the Superintendent of the Farrell Area School District (Farrell, PA) since 2010, Rev. Adams-King is also the Pastor of the New Life Family Worship Center, Franklin, PA, and a part-time instructor in the post graduate school (Doctorate in Ed. Leadership) at Youngstown State University, Youngstown, OH.

She is the recipient of the following awards:

Rev. Dr. Lora Adams-King is a respected and sought after presenter, speaker, and preacher, both locally and nationally. Her research has even taken her to Hamilton, Bermuda where she presented at the International Colloquium on Black Male Education, and Dublin, Ireland.

She is married to Howard D. King, and they are the proud parents of six adult daughters: Raquel, Selena, Tiffany, Noel, Jasmine (Franklyn, Jr. Esq.), and Faith; and doting grandparents of twelve: Markell, Maia, Ethan, Jadon, Franklyn III, Gabriel, Theodore, Charles, Langston, Columbia, Ryleigh, and another on the way.
