About Us

The New Life Family Worship Center, formerly the Erie Street Church of God, was founded in 1913 by Mrs. Ida Mae English, Mrs. Lizzie Lawson, Mrs. William Furman Coasey and Sister Elisha Wimbish.

In 1998, Rev. Lora Adams-King was called to be the pastor. Under her leadership, the membership continued to grow. She shared with the church family the vision God gave her to relocate our church to another facility that would be more conducive to providing 21st century ministries and enlarging God’s Kingdom.

In July 2014, the Erie Street Church of God was made aware that the Calvary Baptist Church, located at 100 East Atlantic Avenue in Franklin was closing its doors. Through months of prayer and negotiations, God’s promise was fulfilled and we were blessed with obtaining the 8,000 square foot building. We held a culminating worship service on October 26, 2014, marked by our 101st church anniversary. On November 2, 2014, after prayer and a song, we marched from 306 Erie Street to 100 E. Atlantic Avenue where we held our first worship service at the New Life Family Worship Center.
